Enugu ADC Guber Candidate To Increase Minimum Wage Of Workers

Enugu State gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr Ocho Obodoeze, has lamented the fate of civil servants in the area, promising to increase the minimum wage of workers.

Obodoeze, who disclosed this shortly after a Thanksgiving Mass flagging off the Campaigns of the party, noted that his top priority is the welfare of Civil Servants in the state.

The thanksgiving at Nsukka, which witnessed a massive turnout of party faithful, marked the third and final leg of his zonal thanksgiving tour, organised by Obodoeze to appreciate God for his successful emergence as the ADC governorship candidate in Enugu State for the 2027 general election.

Obodoeze earlier held the first and second legs of the thanksgiving tour in Enugu East and Enugu West senatorial zones, before returning to his base in Nsukka, Enugu North senatorial zone, to conclude the tour.

In the press statement released on Monday, the Secretary, ADC Caretaker Committee in Enugu State. Comrade Adolphus Ude, assured that members of the party were in high spirits for the campaign, billed to commence on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, according to the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“With prayers offered and thanksgiving completed in all the three senatorial zones of Enugu State, the ADC in Enugu State is now getting fully into campaign mood,” Ude stated.

Earlier in his remarks during the thanksgiving, Obodoeze, popularly known as “Ochoudo,” meaning peacemaker, dedicated his emergence as the ADC candidate and entire 2027 governorship ambition to God.

He used the opportunity to unveil the programmes in his “Ochoudo agenda” targeted at effective and efficient service delivery in Enugu State, focusing on security, health, education, housing, grassroots development and massive infrastructure upgrade in both rural and urban areas.

The ADC candidate assured that if elected Governor, he would not just be paying salaries of workers, but intends to give priority attention to workers’ welfare, stressing that under his administration, workers in Enugu State would be earning more than the amount stipulated in the National Minimum Wage Act, with consequential adjustment across board.

Speaking on behalf of the party, the State Caretaker Chairman, Gen. Chris Eze (rtd.), and the Caretaker Secretary, Adolphus Ude, commended the governorship candidate for his humility and for carrying the party along.

They assured that ADC is united and ready to take over Government House in 2027.
